Hamilton goes back more than 120 years and has been associated with Hollywood and aviation more than any other Swiss watchmaker. In fact, a Hamilton wristwatch has been featured in more than 400 cinema films, including “Die Hard”, “Men In Black”, and “Independence Day”.
One of the most famous Hamilton watches is surely the Hamilton Ventura, worn by Elvis Presley in the 1961 film “Blue Hawaii”. The triangular design of the case still fascinates fans of the Ventura to this day.
In addition to the Ventura, the collection also offers other lines such as the Jazzmaster, Broadway, American Classic, Khaki Field, Khaki Aviation, and Khaki Navy.
The role of Hamilton watches in aviation history dates back to 1919. In that yer, a Hamilton pilot’s watch was used to support the very first airmail service between Washington and New York. The passion for aviation is still reflected in the name and functions of Hamilton watches. In addition, the company partners with large air shows like the EAA Air Venture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Hamilton watches are produced in all sorts of sizes. If you like smaller watches, the Jazzmaster Lady is perfect, but if you prefer a larger watch, you might choose the Frogman or X-Wind Auto Chrono.
Just as diverse as the models are the materials used in Hamilton timepieces. Cases made of stainless steel or titanium with sapphire crystals are paired with wristbands made of stainless steel, leather, or cloth.
Inside, the watches contain every kind of movement: automatic, quartz (battery), and mechanical (hand-wound). In addition, the caseback for the self-winding models is often equipped with sapphire crystal and you can watch the clockwork in action.
The functions of individual Hamilton watches vary according to the clockwork and the model, but Hamilton offers the right timepiece for every requirement. For example, the Hamilton Khaki Navy BelowZero has extremely high water resistance (1000 m). Chronographs (watches with stopwatch function) or models with date display are also on offer at Hamilton.
